Free Morgan Foundation

Why Free Morgan? Because that was the promise all along. Morgan, hungry and needing care, was captured in June 2010, under a rehabilitation and release permit. Once healthy, she was instead placed in a privately owned entertainment park. Help us show the court that Morgan deserves to return to the ocean and her family as originally intended.

About this Project

Project Description
The immediate goal of the Free Morgan Foundation is to raise the public awareness and financial support necessary to help Morgan the Orca win her release in the November 1st court case.

You don't have to be an animal activist to see that Morgan deserves to be free... You just need a heart or a family.

In June 2010 a lone female orca calf was captured from the Wadden Sea, off the northwest coast of the Netherlands, under a rehabilitation and release permit. She was emaciated and dehydrated. The Dolfinarium Harderwijk took this orca, whom they named Morgan, to their facilities in order to administer medical health care. They weren’t allowed to display her to the public and she was to be prepared for reintroduction back into her natural habitat. Unfortunately, this isn’t what happened. They broke the terms of their permit and kept Morgan for show and breeding.

Morgan currently languishes in Loro Parque, a privately owned entertainment park in the Canary Islands. She is used in shows and is abused by the other orca at the park. Yet, there is strong scientific evidence that illustrates that Morgan is a suitable candidate for release back into the wild. Since Morgan’s capture two years ago, the Free Morgan Foundation has been fighting for Morgan’s freedom. Please help us in our efforts to Free Morgan!

Using scientific facts and real life examples of other successful releases we have been involved in, we have already had four expert witnesses from her original trial reverse their testimony and ask for the court to free Morgan as soon as possible. (read full details at www.FreeMorgan.org)

We will show the court that not releasing Morgan back into her natural habitat is to sentence her to years of physical torment and torture. Morgan was born free and returning her to the wild and her family group is the right and humane thing to do.

Support the Free Morgan Foundation, an Adopt an Orca project, with a donation, a "like" on your Facebook page and a tweet so that the Judges will know that as human beings, we take our responsibility to speak for those who have no voice, to protect our environment and to preserve freedom, seriously.

You have a voice and your donation of as little as $1.00 will ensure you are heard by the Judges and the world. You can make a difference if you'll register and donate the dollar in your pocket right now we will keep you updated via im2to.com using Facebook, twitter, email and video.

All funds raised will be used by the Free Morgan Foundation to free Morgan. Your tax deductible donation receipt will be generated from Adopt an Orca, our US 501(c)(3)registered organization. Please share this with your friends and family ask them to join you and support the Free Morgan Foundation.

Project Needs
Free Morgan has been a two year effort by the Free Morgan Foundation to use scientific evidence and previous successful release efforts (the orca Springer and Keiko, along with other whales and dolphins) to win the release of Morgan.

We are now less than 14 days out from the court decision and we need to rally the troops!

Adopt an Orca, parent charity of the Free Morgan Foundation, is actively involved in the ongoing world wide effort to help stranded and captured orca receive the help they need and be returned to their natural habitat. We are a volunteer run organization, we welcome corporate sponsorship and we rely on donations from generous individuals like you and your friends.

Project Schedule
Free Morgan is in its last 14 days. When the judge closes the case Morgan's fate will be sealed.

The Free Morgan Foundation is an Adopt an Orca charity. Adopt an Orca is a registered 501(c)(3) organization. All donated funds will be used by the Free Morgan Foundation to offset the court case to free Morgan. Any funds received in excess of those costs will be directly applied to the release plan for Morgan.

The full release plan can be reviewed and downloaded at http://www.freemorgan.org
